Ninja Time

The renovated Cornelia Warren Field opened recently with an impressive selection of “ninja warrior” training apparatus.

Spiderwalk (navigate two slanted walls)
Ledge Hanger (a slanted finger climbing wall)
Peg Bridge (for arms)
Cargo Net
Rope Climb
Quintuple Steps (slanted jumping platforms)

These Fitcore Extreme structures resemble the ones seen on the top-rated TV show, where ninja contestants tackle obstacles that test strength, balance and stamina.

More traditional exercise equipment at the renovated park includes parallel bars that can be used by those in wheelchairs.

There’s also playgrounds for kids from 2 to 12, a putting green named after WWII veteran and blind golfer Joe Lazaro and a quarter mile walking path.

The park also has a new grass softball field, with scoreboard, lighting and covered bleachers.

The city website said the project cost roughly $2 million.
