Brothers Marketplace to Close

After three years at The Merc, Brothers Marketplace will close “on or before May 28.”
“Closing a store is never an easy decision, and we continue to serve our valued customers in our other locations and online,” said Linda SanGiacomo, Roche Bros.’ vice president of marketing.
The neighborhood market was a spinoff of the Roche Bros. grocery brand.
When it opened in May 2018 at the corner of Moody and Main, Brothers Marketplace was billed as a “one-stop grocery shopping and dining experience with fresh foods, local and specialty products, delicious prepared meals and grocery essentials.”
All the workers at the Waltham store will be offered other opportunities at Roche Bros. markets.
But as one store closes, another will open nearby. On April 9, the Mansfield-based grocery retailer will open a new Roche Bros. store at Arsenal Yards in Watertown.
“This store combines the variety and first-rate shopping experience of Roche Bros. with the innovation and product assortment of Brother Marketplace,” said SanGiacomo. “This store represents the next step in the development of our brand.”
