Kaire Holman, 31, of Quincy, was charged Tuesday with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Zharia Wilcox-Ellis, 24, of Waltham.

A Waltham District Court judge ordered Holman held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing. Her next hearing is on September 23.

On August 2, Wilcox-Ellis was pronounced dead in a parking lot adjacent to the upscale Wright apartment building at Bear Hill Road and Second Ave. She had been shot twice in the head.

Authorities said Tuesday that two projectiles recovered from the victim’s body were matched by ballistics to a .380 firearm registered to Kaire Holman.

Holman is the second person to be charged in connection with the death of Wilcox-Ellis.

In early August, her partner, Melanie Williams, 30, was charged with assaulting her shortly before she was found by responding police.

In court Tuesday, Middlesex Assistant District Attorney Robert Royce characterized Melanie Williams and Kaire Holman as “co-conspirators” who were captured on camera together on the night of the fatal shooting.

“They both lead the victim into the parking lot where the victim is ultimately found dead from two gunshot wounds,” Royce said.

He requested that the pair have no contact with each other and made a motion to impound court records to protect witnesses who are part of the investigation. The judge ruled in favor of the no-contact motion and restricted access to some of the court records.

For the sister of Zharia Wilcox-Ellis, Tuesday's murder arraignment offered some relief in a situation she called “disgusting.”

“I’m ready for everybody to get what they deserve,” said Shyri Wilcox, who appeared in court with her dad, stepmom and other relatives.
