U.S. Congresswoman Katherine Clark was in Waltham last week to announce millions in American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding for a Waltham community health care center.
Rep. Clark toured Charles River Community Health (CRCH) on Foundry Street, then explained how roughly $4.5 million in will help expand low- and no-cost health care coverage.

Over 40% of the center’s 14,000 patients in 2021 were Waltham residents. Almost 10% of all Waltham residents received care from the facility, according to CEO Liz Browne.
CRCH’s diverse staff is uniquely qualified to help low-income patients with a wide array of needs, including dental visits.

“You have been on the front lines serving patients who are also on the front lines,” Rep. Clark said.
The funding comes at a critical time, with spiraling health care costs for low-income patients and medical staff burnt out from COVID.
