New Tattoo Regulations Approved
Body art regulations approved by Waltham’s Board of Health will make opening a tattoo parlor in Waltham a lot easier.
The new rules will go into effect on August 1. It’s great news for the Pino family of Waltham.

Frank Pino and his brother Dave operate Pino Bros. Ink in Cambridge and are currently moving to a new location in the Garage Mall in the heart of Harvard Square.
They have pushed for years to open a studio in their hometown of Waltham, but a prohibitive city council special permit process made it too onerous.

With support from Ward 8 city councilor Cathyann Harris, the city council voted in December to allow body art establishments to operate by right [see video above].
Recently Waltham health officials approved new body art regulations drafted by the city’s law department.

Frank said he hopes to open a Waltham studio in September in a building owned by the family at 12 Taylor Street.

“We would like to help set the standard for body art in Waltham,” he said.
